Family is remembering 7-year-old Dreydon Webb as a happy kid with the sweetest smile. The little boy was the only one who didn’t make it out the west side apartment early Saturday morning.
“He was a big family kid,” said Demi Webb, Dreydon’s older sister. “He liked being around his nephew and his cousins. He would never cuss. He'd never lie. He was always happy and excited to see everybody when he came home from school.”
The hardest thing Demi Webb says she’ll miss most is watching her little brother grow up.

“He bounced off the walls. It gets on your nerves but now, it is things that you miss,” she said. “My little brother [was] 7 years old. He had his whole life ahead of him. It's just very sad.”
As hard as it was, family and friends returned to the scene of the fire for a candle light vigil in honor of Dreydon Saturday night.
The heavy flames and smoke were so strong, at one point, firefighters couldn't climb upstairs to rescue Dreydon. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for steam burns to his legs and face.
“It really means a lot to us,” said Demi. “That takes a very brave person to risk their life for a child, or for anyone else for that matter.”
As the family tries to cope with their loss -- a life of just 7 years young -- Demi is reaching out to the hero who nearly lost his.
“[He was] a complete stranger [who was] willing to give his life for my little brother,” said Demi. “Although my brother's not here, I really want to find him and thank him from the bottom of my heart for trying.”
An IFD spokesperson said the firefighter has been released the hospital. He's said to be okay.
