Update: A woman is in serious condition after an SUV drives into a restaurant, pinning her between the car and the counter. It happened at the Egg Roll King at Collidge Street and W. Washington Street.
Firefighters say the SUV was heading west on Washington when a van driving out of Autozone across the street pulled out in front of them, forcing them to swerve into the restaurant.
"Only option she had was to swerve," said Janine Pennington, the passenger of the SUV. "This is where we wound up, inside the Egg Roll King."
The impact was so strong the SUV drove through the restaurant, pinning a customer between the car and the counter. Wayne Township firefighters say the woman was trapped under debris for 10 minutes.
"Due to the mechanism, that's why she was transported to the hospital in serious condition," said Michael Pruitt, Wayne Township Fire Department Division Chief.
Pennington is still shocked she survived with just a scratch.
"She was trapped. I'm hoping she's okay. She was screaming," said Pennington. "I'm here for my grandkids. I was meant to be here for some reason."
There is severe damage to the building. Firefighters say they don't know how many employees were in the building at the time of the crash. The Egg Roll King will be closed indefinitely.

Just after 5 on Saturday evening, police and fire were called to the Egg Roll King restaurant at Collidge Street and West Washington Street.
Emergency crews found an SUV that had smashed through one of the walls of the business.
Luckily only one person inside the building was hurt and neither the driver or passenger of the SUV was injured.
The person who was in the building was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
Police are still investigating what caused the SUV to crash into the building.
