ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Stouffer the cat is getting better after an animal hospital says the pet was burned in a microwave by a 3-year-old in Detroit.

The Detroit News reports the cat was brought by a family to VCA Animal Hospital in suburban Allen Park, where her leg was amputated. She also suffered injuries to her tail, ears and feet.

Animal hospital medical director Marj Field says Stouffer is doing pretty well but looks "a little silly."

Field says she didn't know how long the cat was in the microwave. Hospital officials are seeking a new home for her.
