INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two Indiana teachers are among 99 educators nationwide who are receiving the 2007 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

Letitia McCallister chairs the mathematics department at Hamilton Southeastern High School in the Indianapolis suburb of Fishers. Deborah Teuscher is district science coach at MSD Pike Township in Indianapolis.

Both teachers will get a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation and opportunities to participate in professional development programs. The annual presidential awards are the nation's top honors for math and science teachers.

The awards were created in 1983 for math and science teachers for grades 7-12.
