EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — A former Evansville church youth choir director has pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old girl who was a member of the church.

Twenty-six-year-old Nathan St. Pierre cried during a short court appearance on Friday when he pleaded guilty to three felony charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.

He faces seven years in prison and would be required to register as a sex offender for 10 years if a Vanderburgh Superior Court judge accepts the agreement. Sentencing is set for June 9.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the girl said the two met during a lock-in at Washington Avenue Baptist Church. The girl told police they had sex 15 to 20 times.

Defense attorney Nicholas Hermann says his client is eager to have the case resolved and is ready to accept the consequences.
