MARKLE, Ind. (AP) — A 6-year-old northeastern Indiana boy has died after being thrown from an all-terrain vehicle.

Indiana Conservation Officer Erick Bolt says Landen Bailey was a passenger on the ATV driven by a 7-year-old girl Tuesday night. He says the girl lost control Tuesday night and the vehicle rolled, ejecting both children.

The boy was flown by helicopter to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The girl was treated for scrapes and abrasions to her knees, legs and face.

Bolt says neither child was wearing a helmet.

They were riding on property belonging to the boy's family
