INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A new hotel complex is expected to bring hundreds of new rooms to downtown Indianapolis in time for the 2012 Super Bowl.

White Lodging and REI Real Estate Services are breaking ground Thursday on the $425 million JW Marriott Indianapolis complex on a seven-acre site overlooking White River State Park.

The complex will include three hotels, including a 34-story JW Marriott Tower with more than 1,000 rooms.

The smaller hotels should be finished in March 2010 and the JW Marriott should be completed by March 2011. Indianapolis last week won the bidding to host the 2012 Super Bowl in the new Lucas Oil Stadium.

The stadium and an expanded convention center are just blocks away from the hotel complex.
