Detroit-area ex-teacher guilty of sex with minor

DETROIT (AP) — A former Detroit-area Christian school teacher has been found guilty of having sex with a then-15-year-old student.

A Wayne County Circuit Court jury on Tuesday found 32-year-old Stephanie Ann Stein of Canton Township guilty of two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and other lesser charges. The CSC counts are felonies punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

A message seeking comment was left at the office of Stein's attorney, Todd Flood.

Sentencing is set for July 2.
