PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) — A former Port Huron woman has been sentenced to seven to 15 years in prison for helping her boyfriend hide their 18-month-old son's body.

Twenty-three-year-old Ashley Marie Snowden pleaded guilty in May to being an accessory after the fact to three felonies, including involuntary manslaughter and second-degree child abuse.

She was arrested in December in Fort Wayne, Ind., with her boyfriend, John William Gonzales.

Police believe the couple was living in Port Huron when toddler Braylon Bishop Gonzales died sometime in 2005. The body was found stuffed in a storage container in their house.

A message seeking comment was left with Snowden's defense attorney, David Black.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports Gonzales faces trial in August on an open murder charge.
