LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) — A 16-year-old Livonia high school student charged in a fatal car crash is heading to trial in Wayne County.

Daniel Aldo Andreassi was ordered held without bond at a preliminary examination Tuesday.

He has been charged as an adult with second-degree murder, manslaughter with a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and lesser charges.

Prosecutors say Andreassi used alcohol and marijuana before a May 18 high-speed crash that killed 20-year-old Anthony Michael Cosenza of Detroit and injured 20-year-old Amy Adams of Westland.

A message seeking comment was left with defense attorney Brian J. Stacey.

Andreassi will be arraigned in Wayne County Circuit Court July 15.

To "Michigonian" The REAL culprits are NOT the executives...It's the kid that did the offense! People must be brought up to understand that there are consequences for their actions. You don't go and find someone else to blame when you do something wrong. It's the kid that did the drinking, smoking and driving...and maybe you for trying to find someone else to blame.

Meanwhile..the REAL culprits..the executives of the big companies who make millions every year SELLING alcohol...are in the Bahamas... as people are being buried...families are weeping...paying for funerals..and sick with disease defendants are being locked up in jail and sent to prison...

When are adults and children going to learn that driving and alcohol don't mix? While I don't think anyone means to get in a car and go out and kill someone, it still happens and you have to be held accountable for your actions. At least he has his life.
