ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — An Ohio man has been arrested in the theft of 200 lead bricks from the University of Michigan.

Campus police tell The Ann Arbor News the 43-year-old Toledo man was arrested Wednesday, a day after selling the bricks at a Detroit-area scrap metal yard.

The bricks weigh a total of 5,000 pounds and are worth about $2,000. They are used as barriers to contain radiation in scientific experiments.

Police say the bricks were stolen from a loading dock sometime between last Friday and this Monday.

The suspect was being held in the Washtenaw County Jail pending charges.

It seems criminals just get dumb and dumber every day. Take them back to your own town or at least away from the city you steal from. Cops are sure to check the "local" areas for stolen items. DUH !!
