INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A Michigan man was sentenced to 33 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to more than three dozen child pornography charges in a case that grew out of a 2006 Australian law enforcement investigation.

Kenneth Miller, 43, also was ordered by U.S. District Judge Sarah Evans Barker to serve a life term of supervised release, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's office for the Southern District of Indiana.

Miller had pleaded guilty to 24 counts of transporting child pornography, 12 counts of receiving it and one count of producing it. He admitted to committing crimes in both Indiana and Michigan.

His case developed during an investigation by Australian authorities into Batesville resident Jerry A. Browder, who has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography over the Internet. The U.S. attorney's office said Browder sent several child pornography images to Australian investigators.

Investigators also learned that Browder and Miller traded child sex abuse images. The U.S. attorney's office statement said Browder used the software program Google Hello to communicate.

Officers executed a search warrant on Miller's Michigan home. They found more than 5,000 child pornography images, including some showing bondage and torture, on his computer, according to the U.S. attorney's office. Police also accused Miller of using a hidden camera to secretly film pornographic images of a girl.
