Authorities say a 9-year-old boy died after being pulled from a pond in rural Macomb County, the body of a 38-year-old man was found in an Oakland County lake and an 86-year-old man died after falling out of a fishing boat in Ottawa County.

The 9-year-old died Monday after spending about 40 minutes underwater in the pond behind his grandparents' home in Ray Township. The boy, who couldn't swim, had gotten stuck in the pond's muddy bottom.

Divers recovered the Novi man's body Monday in Walled Lake. Authorities say the wake from a passing boat apparently caused the boat he was in to overturn.

The Grand Rapids Press and WOOD-TV report Anton Gass of Ottawa County's Robinson Township died Monday after being pulled from the waters of Stearns Bayou.
