DETROIT (AP) — Detroit police are looking for a man they say shot and wounded a 1-year-old boy while trying to steal a pair of sunglasses from a man who was carrying the toddler.

Authorities say the child was shot Monday night while being carried by a 21-year-old man. They say the assailant, who was armed with a handgun, approached the man and demanded his sunglasses.

When the man refused, the gunman fired one shot, striking the man in the hand and wounding the baby.

Police spokeswoman Yvette Walker said Tuesday both the man and child are in temporary serious condition.

WHO WOULD RISK THEIR TODDLER ESPICALLY WITH A GUN? The guy obviously was crazy robbing somone for sunglasses, but if you have your baby with you geez give em up and what ever else they want to protect the unreplaceable, your child. just seems like their has to be more to this maybe was it drugs? So to sum it up YOU STILL HAVE YOUR SUNGLASSES AND YOUR BABY IS SHOT IN SERIOUS CONDITION
