Body of drowning victim recovered from White River

BEDFORD, Ind. (AP) — Indiana Conservation officers say a man who was last seen in an inflatable raft has drowned in the White River in southern Indiana.

Divers recovered the body of Tim Hanners of Bedford Wednesday afternoon after searching the river with sonar.

Hanners was last seen early Wednesday in an inflatable raft on the White River near Indiana 37 in Lawrence County. Friends reported him missing several hours later.

Conservation officers say Hanners was not wearing a life jacket.
