MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — A fire that destroyed an apartment building in downtown Muncie has left about 50 people homeless.

Fire officials say no one was killed in the fire at the Thomas Apartments that started Saturday night. Firefighters continued to pour water on the collapsed roof of the three-story brick building Sunday afternoon.

Fire officials say all the residents are accounted for. The Red Cross provided shelter for many residents overnight and plans to meet with the building's owner Monday to discuss housing options.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.

Residents of some nearby homes were evacuated during the blaze, which left several downtown blocks without power.
