CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) — Prosecutors say a man exploited a software flaw in a riverboat casino's automatic teller machine to withdraw more than $20,000 from his empty bank account.

Thirty-five-year-old Shawn King of Dolton, Ill., was charged Wednesday with felony theft for the incident that allegedly occurred last May on the Majestic Star Casino.

He's at least the fourth person charged with stealing from ATMs at the Gary casino, but court records state that several hundred people tried to take advantage of the software glitch last May.

State Gaming Commission agent John Westmoreland has said that more than a dozen people are being investigated for withdrawing money from inactive, invalid or severely overdrawn accounts.

Records show that the malfunction cost the ATMs' operator more than $2 million.
