GLADSTONE, Mich. (AP) — An Upper Peninsula hunter says she was trying to shoot a bird, but ended up hitting an apple picker in Delta County.

Michigan State Police report from the Gladstone post that 41-year-old Richard Koski of Rockvaile, Tenn., was picking apples on private property when he was struck by 14 pellets.

WLUC-TV says the shooter, 65-year-old Stella Norman of Rock, told officers she was aiming for a partridge and didn't realize Koski was in her line of fire. He was standing on the ground at the time.

Koski's wounds were not life-threatening. He was treated at Marquette General Hospital and released.

No charges have been filed. Police say they're still investigating.

Hey Disturbed... Could be related to Bobby Knight, too. His shooting skills are a little suspect - and what has he been doing lately?

Hey Disturbed, I thought the same thing! LOL I was going to go pick some apples this weekend, but now I'm afraid to. No telling what kind of animal Cheney's relatives might think I am.
