MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) — A Marquette middle school teacher has been ordered to stand trial on accusations of having sex with an underage girl a dozen years ago.

Forty-nine-year-old Kevin Wilson is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A preliminary examination was held Monday. Marquette County District Judge Dennis Girard ruled there was sufficient evidence for a circuit court trial on both counts.

Wilson is being held in the county jail.

He taught computer science at Bothwell Middle School and has worked for the Marquette Area Public Schools for 20 years.

He is accused of having sex with the girl twice in 1996, when she was between 13 and 16 years old.

A message seeking comment was left for defense lawyer Scott Brogan.
