DETROIT (AP) — A 28-year-old Detroit man has been convicted in the operation of an Internet child prostitution network.

The U.S. Attorney's office says a federal jury on Monday found Robert Daniels guilty of eight charges, including running a child exploitative enterprise. The charge carries up to life in prison.

Daniels is accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of minors and posting them on Internet sites that advertised prostitution services. Authorities say minors and adult prostitutes also were taken to Washington, D.C., Maryland, Indianapolis, Chicago and New York.

Daniels will be sentenced Jan. 27, 2009.

Defense attorney Carl Jordan says he expects to appeal the conviction and that the government's claims against Daniels were exaggerated.
