FOWLERVILLE, Mich. (AP) — Police and school officials in Fowlerville say they're investigating claims that an inappropriate picture of a junior high girl was being shared by cell phone.

The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell and The Detroit News report the investigation at Fowlerville Community Schools' Junior High School follows a similar incident at Pinckney High School.

School officials said Tuesday that the Pinckney case has led to 19 suspensions of students involved in receiving or transmitting a cell phone photo a 14-year-old girl took of herself showing her genitals and her face. The girl, who initially sent the photo to friends, was among those suspended.

Livingston County prosecutors plan to consider whether criminal charges will be brought in both cases.
