LEBANON, Ind. (AP) — Police say an Illinois man driving the wrong way on Interstate 65 was killed when he struck a semi head-on.

Boone County Deputy Sheriff Chris Burcham says 53-year-old John Hahn of Joliet, Ill., drove his white Chevrolet Cobalt onto northbound I-65 from the Indiana 267 onramp and headed south into oncoming traffic early Friday morning.

He says Hahn swerved to miss one semi and hit another head-on.

Police believe Hahn, who died at the scene, was simply confused. There was no sign of drugs or alcohol at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
