PINCKNEY, Mich. (AP) — Livingston County authorities say a 13-year-old boy sexually assaulted a girl on her 11th birthday, killed her cat, threatened her mother and beat up her brother and another young boy.

Pinckney police Chief Denis Aseltine says authorities filed charges Nov. 3 after belatedly learning of attacks from April to October.

Aseltine tells The Ann Arbor News the boy assaulted the girl at her Putnam Township home in April. Aseltine says the boy later knocked the girl's 8-year-old brother off his bike, threatened their mother by phone and stomped an 11-year-old boy.

The 13-year-old has a Dec. 10 juvenile court hearing on charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, assault and battery, animal cruelty and malicious use of a phone.
