QUINCY, Ill. (AP) — Police have found two Decatur children, who were reported missing after their mother was found dead in her central Illinois home.

Police say they found the stabbed and beaten body of 29-year-old Christina Vest on Tuesday night. Detectives soon discovered that the children, who are 7 and 11, were missing.

Authorities found the children in Quincy, which is about 130 miles west of Decatur. Police say they were found with a Decatur man during a traffic stop early Wednesday after an AMBER alert was issued. The children are in good condition.

Macon County prosecutor Jay Scott says no one has been charged in Christina Vest's death.

Decatur police Deputy Chief Todd Walker says she may have been dead for a day or longer. An autopsy is planned.
