WARREN, Mich. (AP) — Her son and daughter escaped injury, but a Warren woman could go to prison for life if found guilty of trying to drug the children and then set her house on fire.

Neighbors rescued 32-year-old Tanya Laura Friedly from the burning house Tuesday after her 13-year-old son called 911 once he and his 10-year-old sister got away.

Friedly was arrested and later pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with intent to commit murder and one count of arson. She was being held Wednesday night on $1 million bond.

Police Lt. Michael Torey says Friedly took a prescription medication, got the children to take it and set her bed on fire. Torey says Friedly apparently was suicidal.

Macomb County Jail officials say their records don't indicate whether Friedly has an attorney.
