INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A construction worker has died after falling from scaffolding at a downtown Indianapolis parking garage.

Police say other crew members told officers that 49-year-old Jose Ramirez of Indianapolis had just disconnected a safety harness and was moving onto a platform when he fell about 20 feet to the ground.

Ramirez suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead Saturday morning at Wishard Hospital a short time after the fall.

Police Sgt. Paul Thompson said investigators considered the death accidental, but that the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration would likely review it.
