Police investigate Lake Shafer home invasion death

Police continued their investigation early Tuesday after a woman was found dead near Monticello, Ind., following what they believe is a home invasion.

White County authorities told SBT24/7 News that the body was discovered in a home near Lake Shafer, east of Monon, on Monday.

Police have not identified the victim or released information about a suspect, but described the scene as a type of "home invasion."

Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post confirmed they were called to assist with the investigation, but no other details were available.

White County authorities are asking anyone with information to call Det. Pat Shafer at (574) 583-2251.
