FRANKFORT, Ind. (AP) — Police in Clinton County are investigating the shooting of a trucker on Interstate 65 northwest of Indianapolis.

Sheriff's Detective Rick Morgan says the trucker, 42-year-old Thomas Neal of Whittington, Ill., was shot in the upper left arm while driving on I-65 Monday night.

Investigators are unsure if the shot, which shattered the driver's side window, was fired from another vehicle. Morgan told The Times of Frankfort that there are no overpasses near where the shooting occurred.

Morgan says Neal was treated at hospitals in Frankfort and Indianapolis after the bullet traveled across his back and ended up near his spine. He was later released.

Police still are investigating the shooting.
