BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — A 21-year-old Battle Creek man tells police he was kidnapped at gunpoint and forced to steal three CDs from a Kmart.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the man was stopped at the Kmart Monday afternoon as he tried to leave with the CDs, valued at $45.

Store officials say they will not press charges against the man because he is mentally disabled, but have banned him from the store.

The man and his father contacted police the next day, telling them he was kidnapped at gunpoint by four men in an SUV who threatened to kill him unless he stole the items.

Police say they have few leads.
