RENSSELAER, Ind. (AP) — A friend of a missing Wheatfield woman was jailed on kidnapping and other charges after police say he led investigators to the woman's shallow grave.

Aaron Flynn, 26, of Sumava Resorts, was being held in northwest Indiana's Jasper County Jail on $100,000 bond Monday night. He faced preliminary charges of theft, forgery, criminal confinement, fraud and kidnapping, jail staff said.

Police said Flynn led them Sunday to a shallow grave on an abandoned farm in adjacent Newton County holding the remains of 54-year-old Rosalba Silvana "Silvia" Ricchio. Ricchio was reported missing March 11. Her death was being investigated as a homicide.

"Mr. Flynn befriended Silvia and stayed with her from time to time," said Jasper County Chief Deputy Terry Risner. "He sometimes did some handiwork for her. ... He led us to where her body was buried."

A news release said Flynn told police that he and another person had forcibly removed Ricchio from her home March 10.

Flynn was initially arrested for driving with a suspended license on Friday when police found him driving a 1993 Geo Tracker registered to Ricchio, but was released on bond. The following day, he was arrested on a charge of theft after police say he used a debit card belonging to Ricchio to withdraw $300.

Police also found a 2000 Ford Taurus registered to Ricchio at the Lake Village residence where Flynn was arrested. Police said investigators found human blood and hair residue in the car's trunk.

Newton County Sheriff Don Hartman said detectives from Newton and Jasper counties were interviewing another "person of interest" in the case Monday. He said up to four people may have been involved in Ricchio's disappearance and death.
