INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Investigators are working to determine whether the body of a man found in the White River in Indianapolis is that of a canoeist missing for nearly two months.

Police say a birdwatcher spotted the body on a sandbar Sunday evening near the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Police Sgt. Paul Thompson said the coroner's office would work to confirm the man's identity, but that 25-year-old Ethan Runnel of Indianapolis was the only current person reported missing in that section of the river.

Runnel was last seen when his canoe capsized Feb. 14 in high water about a mile and a half from where the body was found.
