INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A southern Indiana carpenter has claimed a $3 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot.

Paul Bloemker of the Dearborn County town of Moores Hill decided to take a lump-sum payment and picked up a check for $1,162,127 at the Hoosier Lottery headquarters on Friday.

He bought his winning ticket for the May 30 drawing at service station in nearby Milan.

Bloemker says he plans to pay off the mortgage on his house and buy a new truck, then seek training and licensing to become a financial adviser and securities broker. He also plans to continue spending $10 a week on Hoosier Lotto and Powerball tickets.
