INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Six people have been shot during an argument behind a house on the east side of Indianapolis.

Police Sgt. Matthew Mount says two of the people were taken to Wishard Hospital in critical condition on Wednesday night. He says three others also were hospitalized for treatment of lesser wounds and one was treated at the scene and taken to police headquarters for questioning.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Mount says one of the victims apparently "ran into problems" with some men at a store earlier Wednesday. He says the group later came to the home on East New York Street and began shooting at the victims, who were having a cookout behind the house.

The shooters fled the scene and have not been identified.
