OAKTOWN, Ind. (AP) — Southwestern Indiana police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a burned car by firefighters who put out a fire that destroyed a pole barn.

Investigators have identified the body as that of 37-year-old Shane J. West of Oaktown.

But Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris says further details are unlikely to emerge until after test results are received from an autopsy scheduled for Friday.

Morris' body was found in the burned-out car parked inside the pole barn after firefighters were called to the scene early Wednesday. When firefighters arrived, they found the barn fully engulfed in flames with the roof collapsed and two cars inside.

State police, the state's fire marshal and homeland security are investigating the fire.
