BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — Calhoun County investigators are reopening the case of a 66-year-old widow who was beaten to death in 1995.

Michigan State Police Trooper Ann Poehlman is a member of the cold case team looking into the death of Barbara Pattok in her Pennfield Township house.

Poehlman tells the Battle Creek Enquirer "whoever did this thing is still out there."

Members of the team have been reading police reports and interview transcripts filed in several thick binders and questioning people who might have information about the case.

It is the second time the investigation has been reopened.

A cold case team organized by the state police in 2000 looked at several unsolved homicides in southwest Michigan, including the Pattok case, but no arrests were made.
