MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) — A 19-year-old Detroit-area man has been sentenced to one to 15 years behind bars in the attempted sexual assault of a teenager he met on the popular Internet networking site Facebook.

Michael Thomas Robinson pleaded guilty in May to second-degree criminal sexual conduct and second-degree home invasion in the Dec. 4 attack on a 16-year-old Clinton Township girl.

The Eastpointe resident was sentenced Thursday in a Macomb County courtroom.

Before Robinson went to the victim's house for a visit, the two chatted over Facebook, by phone and via text message.

Police say she sneaked him in through a basement window. The next day Robinson returned, entered through the same unlocked window and then pushed the girl to the ground and attempted to rape her.
