ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan man convicted of raping and murdering his neighbor will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Washtenaw County Circuit Judge David Swartz on Thursday sentenced 32-year-old Derrick Oliver to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Ann Arbor News reports a jury convicted Oliver last month of felony murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct and larceny in the February slaying of Lindsay Graygo.

Prosecutors say the 29-year-old Graygo was found strangled and nearly naked in the bathtub of her Ypsilanti Township apartment. Oliver lived in the same building and his DNA was found under Graygo's fingernails.

An e-mail seeking comment was sent Thursday to defense attorney Anthony Chambers.
