METROPOLIS, Ill. (AP) — Investigators say a 2-year-old boy has drowned in a relative's pool in the southern Illinois tourist town of Metropolis.

Deputy Massac County Coroner Greg Russell says Seth Robertson died Wednesday night at a hospital, shortly after he was found unresponsive in an above-ground pool.

Russell says the family had been swimming and took a break, but the toddler managed to slip away and made his way into the pool unseen. Russell says the toddler was submerged for about 15 minutes.

Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday at Mount Sterling Cemetery in Metropolis.
