EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Aides to Sen. Richard Lugar will hold a forum in Evansville on July 22 on legislation to help young, undocumented immigrants earn legal status by obtaining an education and completing national or public service.

The Indiana Republican and Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois have introduced the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act in Congress. It would grant conditional legal status to youth who successfully complete high school or the equivalent. They then would have six years to graduate from college or a trade school or join the military.

The July 22 forum at the Juan Diego Center at 3635 Pollack Ave. will be presented in English at 6 p.m. and in Spanish at 7:30 p.m.
