MASON CITY, Ill. (AP) — The Mason County Sheriff's Office says a body has been found near the residence of Dustin Englebrecht, who has been missing since late last month.

The sheriff's office said Tuesday the body was found in a grave near Englebrecht's property Monday evening.

The cause of death was nor released Tuesday, but the sheriff's office, the Illinois State Police and the Mason County Coroner's Office are investigating the matter as a homicide.

The search for the 27-year-old Englebrecht began Aug. 28, when his fiancée, Stephanie Kearney, returned home from work to find him gone. Kearney and their 9-year-old son, Zeke, have waited for word ever since.

Kearney says the couple had planned to get married Aug. 25, but postponed the wedding after Englebrecht broke his femur in a dirt bike accident.
