BAD AXE, Mich. (AP) — A 59-year-old Essexville man charged with indecent exposure after he was caught nude at a park in the state's Thumb area has been found guilty.

Huron County Circuit Judge M. Richard Knoblock sentenced David A. Neering to 16 hours of community service and more than $500 in fees and fines.

Prosecutors said Neering was naked on the dunes at Port Crescent State Park in Port Austin, about 115 miles north of Detroit, when he was spotted by a conservation officer at about 3:30 p.m. on June 16.

Neering's lawyer, Edward M. Czuprynski of Bay City, tells The Bay City Times his client was skinny dipping alone in a secluded area of the park.
