Tears fell to the ground along with hair Friday night as dozens of Lynchburg College students shaved their heads to support cancer research.

Participants raised money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization that fights childhood cancer.

More than 40 people had their heads shaved in the Hall Campus Center at LC.  Many shared personal stories of how cancer has impacted their families.

Nathan Norman and his family were on hand for the event.  He's the six-year-old boy from Rustburg that's fighting tumors in his brain and spine.  Nathan and his father, Bobby, along with his brother, Matthew, all had their heads shaved.

The event raised more than $10,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
