A Roanoke synagogue is being seen in a brand new light thanks to a popular artist. The Beth Israel Synagogue is located on Franklin Road. Local artist Eric Fitzpatrick was inspired by the beautiful building so he painted a piece he calls "Friday Night". Sunday afternoon, the original was on display and prints were available for sale.

"I just love the fact that I can get up every day and be passionate about what I do. I just love every minute of painting and even when I take vacations, they're painting vacations, said Fitzpatrick.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the synagogue's Men's club and will be used to buy new prayer books and fund various projects. If you’re interested in purchasing a painting, log onto www.bethisraelroanoke.org

Fitzpatrick will now create pieces featuring Mill Mountain in the fall. And he will head to the Outer Banks.
