While attempting to rescue a man stuck inside an express elevator, Chicago firefighters got stuck and needed rescuing as well.

It happened in a high-rise at 65 W. Monroe near Millennium Park, just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters used another elevator in an adjoining shaft to pull up next to the stuck elevator. Once firefighters pulled the man into their elevator, that elevator got stuck, too.

No one was injured but it took rescuers about three hours to finally bring everyone down.
