Newark, N.J. (WPIX)—The blizzard that slammed into the East coast dumped a thick layer of snow that stranded thousands of airline customers. All area airports have either flight delays an d cancellations or is closed.
Newark Liberty International Airport is closed and is not expected to resume service until Monday, December 27th at 7:00am at the earliest. AirTrain service at Newark Liberty has been temporarily suspended . Shuttle buses are available at the Terminal and AirTrain Station frontages.
John F. Kennedy International Airport is also closed. Airtran service has temporarily suspended. There is a free shuttle bus service being provided from all terminals and the Howard Beach train station.
Travelers should check with their airline before traveling to airports to determine if your flight is affected.
