NEW YORK (WPIX)—Authorities are investigating a string of burglaries at churches in the Bronx that have occurred over the past three weeks.
According to police, the latest robbery happened Sunday night at Our Lady of Refuge on 196th Street in Bedford Park. On top of trashing the place, burglars escaped with two laptops, recording equipment and over $1,000 in cash.
Sunday's robbery is the fourth to happen at a church in the area. According to police, Saint Ann's Church in Norwood was robbed on Thanksgiving Day, while Saint John's Church and Kingsbridge Evangelical Lutheran Church fell victim to robberies earlier this month.
Our Lady of Angles School was also targeted in recent weeks.
Anyone with information about the robberies is urged to call police. All calls will remain confidential.
