NEW YORK (PIX11)—
It's been a dangerous weekend underground. Separate subway accidents around the city Saturday have left four men dead: two in Manhattan, one in Brooklyn, the other in Queens.According to the Daily News, people got off the L train at the Sixth Avenue station in Manhattan around 10 p.m. and made the gruesome discovery of a man's head wedged between a car and the platform.
He's identified as Brian O'Mara, 22, of Long Island.
Meanwhile in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant section at approximately 4:30 p.m., cops say yet another man was struck and killed at the Nostrand Avenue station along Fulton Street on the A line. He wasn't carrying any identification.
Then in Queens, someone discovered a man in his 60's bleeding from the mouth at the bottom of the elevated Elmhurst Avenue station on the R Line. This was around 2 a.m. He died an hour later at Elmhurst Hospital Center.
Investigators don't think any criminality was involved here; they suspect he might've slipped, and fell down the stairs hitting his head.
Authorities haven't released the names of the other men, pending notification of their families.
