Nearly 2 Dozen Injured In Harlem Bus Crash Involving Tanker

A total of 23 people were left injured Tuesday afternoon after the bus they were traveling in was rear-ended by a box truck involved in another crash with a tanker.

According to authorities, the box truck collided with a fuel tanker at the intersection of 125th Street and Fifth Ave. at about 2 p.m. The collision sparked a chain reaction that sent the box truck careening into a Bx15 bus where a reported 23 passengers were on board.

Despite causing a major traffic jam in the area, no injuries were described as major. It wasn't immediately clear what caused the box truck and fuel tanker to collide.

As many as 8 ambulances and 5 firetrucks responded to the scene, a witness tweeted.
