A construction worker was injured Friday after he fell from the Throgs Neck Bridge in Queens, fire officials said.

According to authorities, the worker fell onto the bridge's midspan at 11:08 a.m. It wasn't immediately clear where on the bridge he fell from.

The worker, who was not immediately identified, was transported to a nearby hospital. His injuries were not known.

The suspension bridge spans the East River between the Bronx and Queens.

The accident came a day after another construction worker fell to his death in Brooklyn.

In Thursday's incident, the worker lost his balance and fell about 50 feet.

Police said 35-year-old Louis Zaruma, of Brooklyn, was putting up steel framework for the 6th floor of a residential building when he fell.
