FLAT ROCK, Mich. (AP) — U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin say $203,000 in federal grants will be heading to five fire departments in Michigan.
The beneficiaries are departments in Flat Rock, Alpena Township, Saginaw County's Buena Vista Township, Niles and Kalamazoo County's Comstock Township.
Flat Rock is getting $65,000, which it plans to use in the area of operations and safety.
The senators say the grants come through the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
